As her steps neared the stall something queer distracted her thoughts. Some girls were walking around carrying the same kind of rose as Mayank had gifted her moments ago.Her eyes ventured into the scene and stopped only to find him giving roses and wishing all female freshers. This was it.The answer to all questions that were fiddling with the peace of her mind.Probably he had an extra stock out of which he had cared to give one to her out of courtesy or mere formality as he had kept her waiting for long. Her happiness turned to disgust over the sheer investment of curiosity into bare 'nothingness' of the situation.Thats what Valentine's day does to many singles every year.A false hope to cherish upon and a stark reality they can never change no matter how hard they try."Maybe this day wasnt for me.Maybe true love is only for movies and I had been so stupid all this while."She thought to herself and stealthily moved and handed the poster to some guys to hang.Mayank was too busy to even notice her.
It had been a hectic day for Meghna handling all the event work and the stall surely was a big hit among the freshers. Her phone had temporarily been flooded with congratulatory messages as it had been her sole idea.Atleast they kept her tears from falling and rejuvenated the smile that she faked fairly well before her audience.
It was bedtime she had saved for reading the messages that she had missed earlier. As she scrolled through them ,she found one from the same name that had earlier too enticed her whenever it knocked her phone. He had messaged her in the noon and it was the first time she had missed his message. She checked it.He had written "How did you find the rose?"The rose had been stuffed into her bag with the intent of never popping out lest she remembers this day that was to get over in about 15 minutes. She replied "As beautiful as the dozen of girls you presented it to found it."She was good at this, she thought to herself.Mayank replied "Yours was a bit different had you cared to observe."This made her think. She hurriedly reached her bag and found the hideous rose.It had something peculiar about it.She unwrapped it to learn that the rose was an excellent orygamy work and there was actually something written on it when she unfolded it.She sat down as she read it...
"Always knew you're so dumb that you would reach this only when the Valentine's day would be nearing its end.But I hope that I make your day by telling you that you're the best best thing that ever happened to me and I cant think of a single day without you.I love you Meghna. Now would you make my day by accepting this proposal??"
Meghna was into tears of delight. All this while she had the rose but didnt even look at it.Mayank had actually planned it well and she quickly called him up to tell him that she loved him.
Lets just rejoice with the love that surrounds us this Valentine's day.Life indeed is meaningless without love and love truely is the language of hearts.Stay happy.Stay in love.:):)

Valentine's day special #3
Valentine's day special #2
Meghna burst into giggles when she recognized that the man dressed as a cupid with a big stuffed heart-shaped belly walking towards her was none other than Mayank."Its for the publicity of your stall Meghna, see I care so much about you!"Ofcourse he was kidding and she knew it.He had cracked such flirtarious cliched dialogues previously too so they didnt make even a speck of an impact on her already injured heart(,well not that they intended to). After wriggling and wrestling with his enormous costume he finally mined out the clothed poster. It brought a motherly smile on Meghna's thin lips as she had put a lot of efforts into its making in addition to arranging the best chocolates for the freshers."And here's something I brought for you.."Mayank picked out a red rose neatly wrapped with a transparent sheet with a handsome bow made of pink ribbon providing the glitters."Happy valentine's day!" He said courteously.
For that moment Meghna stood frozen trying to flutter away the thoughts that this was the moment and she should probably give him a warm, affectionate hug but he intervened again saying "hey I need to go help others with the stall,so cupid says BYE!"He dissappeared with the blink of an eye and Meghna was left boggled.
After few minutes of utter confusion she stepped out and started walking towards the stall to hang the poster.Beautiful, high tides were already rising in her heart and she wanted to stop and stare endlessly at the rose that he had presented her.Thinking that he had specially purchased it earlier in the day just for her lit her face with a magnificient smile.Did Mayank want to confess his love but couldnt due to lack of time?Or did he only want to express that he shared the same feelings as her through the rose? Her mind worked deep into the contemplation of the rose while she walked down the stairs and entered the lawn where they had set up the stall.
(watch out for the part3 of the story on valentine's day):p
Valentine's day special!
It was the usual recess of an unusual day.Meghna, perched to one corner of a large hall, was drowning in a pool of her innumerable thoughts.Like an ocean wave, that would give rise to another on reaching the shore, one thought would protrude from another. But it was Mayank who'd come sailing to her,on each wave. She had no clue on the first day of her college that this would be the guy she'd be waiting desperately for on Valentine's day two years later.Never had she admired the red and pink colors that had flourished in the gift shops and toy stores or the classic love stories that her girlfriends would go gaga listening to making frequent "aawwwwwwww!" sounds! And Mayank was quite her ilk! But that wicked smile that he'd flash when he would annoy her with a prank had with time turned into the most charming smile she had ever seen. Her late night conversations with him had apparently become the most anticipated part of her daily schedule. But lately his nonchalance to her thoughts and whims and late replies had started giving her insinuations to his lack of interest in her. She'd often remain confused, remiss towards real issues regarding studies or family or friends and find herself basking in her thoughts about him.So today was just a usual day but with an unusual label 'The Valentine's day' and she was waiting for him to hand over the poster to invite freshers to their 'valentine's day chocolate stalls'.Meghna had been very busy with the event the success of which could catapult her out of her 'mayankly' thoughts to better aspirations. She was wondering what was taking him time when someone stepped in.

Say it!
You may call me politically incorrect if I begin by saying that the one who endures a crime is worse than the one who commits it and no matter how much you try to obscure it with the ongoing political examples, you can still recall the big boss viewers condemning Tanisha staying mum on Armaan's whims and tantrums(and of course anger) that were very evidently directed towards her.Hence it would be inappropriate to look at it merely through political glasses because we all face it in our daily lives. There is a haughty Armaan in each of our lives and we stay mum to whatever he does due to a cloud of perceptions of consequences that we create and apparently dwell in.We dont resist it at first for courtesy issues doing what we allow the other person to feel free to subject us to the same ordeal any time. This person mostly turns out to be the one who is very near and dear and sensitive so we become ostentatious in the situations in order to maintain harmony not realising that it all piles up somewhere. Our world has windows and gateways to address practically all issues if not to solve them alone.Just a couple of days back I was enjoying my favourite coffee when I received a call from a friend.Terrified,as her voice, was what the ripples in my peaceful coffee changed to.Her best friend at college had become an absolute nuisance in her life and had frustrated the hell out of her. There wasnt a word that she uttered that didnt narrate her anguish and I kept listening patiently thinking it would calm her down if she vented it out on phone. But at the end, though she disconnected abruptly signifying that she had vomited it all,I regret not telling her the right solution. You can always come up with a trick that could implicitly convey it to the person that you dont like the present state of conditions that his/her deeds have intentionally or unintentionally led to.But thinking of it spontaneously is not practicable always and if the perpetrator is invariably dumb to your tricks, you may not succeed then. The only solution left is to say it with a straight face because once it gets to their head then another shot at making them realise it some time later would become an easy job.All you need is a correct choice of words and a continent temper that you can sprinkle at the right time.Puff!!Burst the cloud because no relationship survives on only one's efforts. If your deploration or resistance strains it then so be it,may be it wasnt meant to be.But you must not refrain from keeping your viewpoint clear to them.Your peace of mind is as importance as their so follow the old but gold logic-Live and let live.Stay happy.:):)
